Domo Baal is delighted to present Kristaps Ancāns' 'Have we all learned how to be human at home?' a sculptural installation in laser cut steel situated over the threshold of the gallery building. It may therefore be viewed by anyone passing by at any time. 'Have we all learned how to be human at home?' will remain installed during and throughout this transitional and liminal time as we emerge (hopefully) from the pandemic, how did you spend your time at home?

"I was enthusiastically telling my friend about my new theory while having a walk in a park.

I believe that art has to define new additional tasks for itself to prepare us for a world with new points of reference emerging and marking a unique philosophy, shaping society's view regarding its place in the nearest future.

It had been a while – he stopped me – How did you spend your time at home? I quit smoking! – he added straight away – It was so easy, I don't have any desire to have even one!

I quit as well! – I lied, while my hand in the jacket's left pocket was squeezing a brand new pack of Marlboro, all my urges and habits were still with me, just hidden from his sight."
